Bookstore Romance Day Historical Romance Lovefest!

Bookstore Romance Day logo August 15 2020 date Historical Romance Lovefest

Bookstore Romance Day was created in 2019 as a way to create a love match between Independent bookstores and the Romance community.  It was a classic enemies-to-lovers tale: for too long, Indies weren’t embracing romance books…but now, with this initiative, we’re on our way to our very own HEA.  Thank you for joining us today, and remember to check to give some love back and support romance-loving Indies!

Romance readers are invited to partake in a frolicking good time with Creating Conversations' Bookstore Romance Day 2020 Historical Romance Lovefest, featuring five stellar authors in conversation with Frolic Media co-founder Sarah Penna.
Join Scarlett Peckham (The Rakess), Eva Leigh (Would I Lie to the Duke?), Olivia Waite (The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows), Vanessa Riley (A Duke, the Lady, and a Baby), and Christina Britton (A Good Duke Is Hard to Find) in a virtual event celebrating all the things we love in historical romances: the tropes, the period trivia and tidbits, and above all, the happily ever afters! Click here to register for this virtual event.

Scarlett Peckham writes steamy historical romances celebrating alpha heroines. Her USA Today bestselling debut novel, The Duke I Tempted, was named a Best Romance Novel of 2018 by BookPage and the Washington Post. Scarlett lives in Los Angeles, where she enjoys trying to think of new ways to say "wicked, collecting vintage romance clench covers, and dressing her cat up in bowties.

Eva Leigh is a romance author who has always loved the Regency era. She writes novels chock-full of determined women and sexy men. She enjoys baking, spending too much time on the Internet, and listening to music from the '80s. Eva and her husband live in Central California.

Olivia Waite writes historical romance, fantasy, and science fiction. She is also the romance fiction columnist for the New York Times Book Review, where she writes reviews of romances old and new and thoughtful essays on the genre's history and future.

Vanessa Riley writes Historical Fiction and Historical Romance (Georgian, Regency, & Victorian) featuring hidden histories, dazzling multi-culture communities, and strong sisterhoods. She promises to pull heart strings, offer a few laughs, and share tidbits of tantalizing history. Vanessa holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and several other degrees from Stanford and Penn State Universities. Yet, her love of history and lattes have overwhelmed her passion for math leading to the publication of over 20+ titles. She’s President-Elect of The Beau Monde, a specialty chapter focusing upon Regency History. She’s a member of Georgia Romance Writers, NINC, and the Historical Novel Society, and a board member of the Christian Book Lovers Retreat. She enjoys writing on her southern porch with proper caffeine.

Christina Britton developed a passion for writing romance novels shortly after buying her first at the tender age of thirteen. Though for several years she put brush instead of pen to paper, she has returned to her first love and is now writing full time. She spends her days dreaming of corsets and cravats and noblemen with tortured souls. She lives with her husband and two children in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sarah Penna is currently the co-founder of Frolic Media, the entertainment media brand for modern Romance fans. Frolic launched in April 2018 and is currently the fastest growing brand creating content for this passionate and engaged fandom.
Prior to that, Sarah was the Co-Founder of Big Frame, the first digital-only talent management firm. During her time there, she helped to establish Big Frame as an industry leading media company and talent management firm with 300 talent signed, who have a combined 70+ million YouTube subscribers and have a total social media reach of 200+ million followers. Dubbed “CAA for the digital set,” Big Frame was acquired by DreamWorks in April 2014.
Sarah is a book nerd who does judge a book by the cover. Catch her at 6am reading a few chapters before her 4 year old wakes up.

And don't forget Creating Conversations will continue the celebration with our virtual book club meeting on Thursday, August 20,
